News about Frank Selaga from Dan Camm
Our ILLUSTRIOUS Fellow and my best friend, Frank Selega in Traverse City, had a serious heart attack while vacationing in Florida this week. He had some chest pain symptoms on Tuesday and Wednesday, but on Thursday morning he awoke to chest pain, arm pain, jaw pain, nausea, sweating. The symptoms subsided, and he was able to fly back to Traverse City to get into a hospital there. Part of the surprise of this is because Frank is so health conscious; he works out daily, watches his diet, and seems so agile. I talked to him yesterday. He is very comfortable and as humorous as always. He is on a heparin drip. His blood enzymes and ECG showed that he definitely had a heart attack. He is on observation for the weekend and will have a heart catherization on Monday. He'll know then what the next step is. He and I are scheduled to do 6 third-molar cases next Saturday; he told me not to cancel them. Pretty optimistic. He'll probably do them from a wheel chair, and I will have to use a monitor on the patients and one on him. I know how he feels about all of you, so I had to share this. He is in Munson Hospital in Traverse City. The phone number there is 231-935-5000, Room 4516. You can probably better reach him on his cell phone at 231-409-5840. I know he would love to hear from you. He and I joke all the time about how old we are getting. He always explains his outrageous behavior by saying he can do anything he wants since he "has one foot in the grave". You know Frank. But this has been sobering to me. September 18- Detroit, MI September 25- Pittsburgh, PA October 9- Buffalo or Rochester, NY October 30- Winston-Salem, NC ALL FRIDAY's and they will be a similar agenda to the spring meetings. Just mark your calendar and watch your emails and check the website for further details.

SPRING Outreach programs
The dates for the upcoming Spring Outreach meetings are April 24 in Cleveland Ohio at Progressive Fields in the Heavy Hitters conference room. The 6 hour lecture includes lunch and is followed by the Indians game vs. Minnesota Twins. May 8th the Outreach meeting is in Lexington Kentucky at the Campbell House/ Crowne Plaza. There is 6 hours of CE including lunch and is followed by a wine and cheese social hour. Please click on 'OUTREACH PROGRAM' on the website to register online and see all the details.
